This ethanol still is capable of producing either food grade ethanol, moonshine, or ethyl alcohol fuel. Questions are raised regarding the legality of ethyl alcohol as either an alternative fuel source or libation depending on the intentions of the still user.
This particular still is modeled after Appalachian copper stills, made by hand with traditional metalsmithing techniques. The interchangable distillation column allows the user to operate the still for either purpose. This set-up is more appropriate for the production of moonshine, given the taller unpacked distillation column and propane tank as fuel source.
